“Featuring 50 modern inspired arcade machines…”
- by Fraser Gilbert
In our big list of all the games coming to next week that we published yesterday, we assume most people will have glossed over one called “The Coin Game” — but if you like ticket-style arcades, it should definitely be on your radar!
The Coin Game has been on Steam for a few years in early access now, and it features over 50 arcade machines that are inspired by modern favourites, as well as a carnival with over 20 classic games and rides, a waterpark, a ‘90s-style indoor mall, a cinema, and various other locations you can visit.
You can either play in Birthday Mode, where you get unlimited funds and can just enjoy all of these activities as you see fit, or you can play in Survival Mode where you have to focus on health, energy and making money (to spend on arcade machines, of course!).
As mentioned, The Coin Game isn’t new to Steam, where it has an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating based on almost 5,000 user reviews, with the only real criticisms being that it runs choppy on some PCs. We don’t yet know how the Xbox Series X and S versions will fare, but here’s hoping there won’t be any technical issues when they arrive.
Look out for The Coin Game on the Xbox Store this Thursday, March 19th — and we’ll leave more details below.
A collection of ticket redemption arcades with realistic physics, a carnival, goofy robots, open world design, a global ranking system and silly prizes. Featuring 50 modern inspired arcade machines and a pawn shop to keep money in your pocket. The Coin Game is made by a solo developer.
